Why piano is not regular furniture
A piano weighs 180-250 kg, grand piano — 250-400 kg. The heaviest AND most fragile item at once. Tensioned strings (~20 t total tension), hammers, soundboard. Any shock — loses tune.
Prepare 2-3 days ahead
- Close keyboard lid and tape it
- Lower the top lid
- Don't touch pedals
- Remove everything from top
- Measure door frames and stair widths
What you need from carrier
- 4 experienced movers
- Special straps (8×280 cm, set 1350 MDL)
- Protective blankets or piano covers
- Transport rollers
- Truck with hydraulic lift

- No special straps — refuse

Tuning after move
Any transport knocks tuning off. Let it acclimatize 2-3 weeks, then call tuner. Cost — 800-1 600 MDL.
