Why picking the right carrier matters
Cargo transport is more than price per kilometer. The carrier determines the safety of your belongings, meeting deadlines and the final invoice amount. A bad choice costs 2-3× more.
10 signs of a reliable company
- Legal entity — LLC (SRL) or sole prop registered in Moldova. Check at idno.md.
- Written contract with date, route, cargo, price, penalties.
- Transparent estimate with line items.
- 3+ years of experience.
- Own fleet with real photos.
- In-house movers, not random people.
- Cargo insurance — at least 0.3% of declared value.
- Real reviews on Google Business, Facebook, 999.md.
- Public price list on website.
- Vehicle inspection available in advance.
Red flags
Refuses written contract — walk away. Price 20%+ below market — either dumping with surprise fees, or unqualified workers. No fixed office and public contacts — high disappearance risk.
Comparing quotes
Request estimates from 3-5 carriers and compare:
- Total price including ALL add-ons
- Cost of idle hour during delays
- Guarantees and insurance conditions
- Payment methods — cash, card, transfer
- Booking and cancellation terms
Before ordering
1-2 days before, confirm: date and time, driver name and contact, vehicle registration, final price. Get driver's passport and create an inventory of items with both signatures.
If something goes wrong
For damaged cargo make a report on the spot with photos. Sign both copies. Without the report, getting compensation is nearly impossible. If the carrier refuses — contact ANPC Moldova.
